Hoarding Disorder: Understanding and Treatment

Hoarding behavior can diminish quality of life and jeopardize an older person’s health and safety. Learn how to recognize hoarding behaviors and to identify the associated risk factors. The latest research and various treatments will be discussed, including a more respectful, ‘trauma informed’ approach that preserves dignity, and focuses on the person and not the accumulated items.

At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  2. Recognize the impact that hoarding can have on family and community.
  3. Identify treatments that can help people with hoarding disorder.
