The Walk4ALZ & Run4ALZ is Orange County’s largest Alzheimer’s walk and 5K. Every year, thousands come together at Angel Stadium to raise funds, awareness and enjoy a day of family fun. Keep the following in mind to prepare for the big day and if you haven’t already sign up here.

1. Turn It In Tuesday, March 15

Get a head start on Walk4ALZ & Run4ALZ! Turn in your monies raised, pick up team shirts, purchase hats and collect your fundraising medal (if you’ve raised over $1000) during Turn It In Tuesday on March 15. Stop by anytime between 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. at 2515 McCabe Way, Irvine, CA 92614

2. Fundraising 

It’s not too late to start your fundraising efforts. Check out our fundraising page to make the most of the time left before the day of the event. View tutorials, use our toolkit, download and print forms, and see other ways you can raise money to reach your goal. This is a community event, so make sure to invite your friends, family, coworkers and anyone else that can support your efforts (they can also text “ALZOC” to 56651 to donate). Start your team or search for one you’d like to join here.

3. Time & Schedule

Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to drive, check-in and check out our great vendors before the event. Remember to complete the Treasure Map on the day of the event for a chance to win a great prize!

9:00 a.m. – Star-Spangled Banner & Welcome

9:05 a.m. – Run4ALZ Starts

9:10 a.m. – Fundraiser’s Opening Ceremonies & Awards

9:20 a.m. – Walk4ALZ Starts

4. Where to Go

Walk4ALZ & Run4ALZ is returning to Angel Stadium in Anaheim this year at 2000 East Gene Autry Way, Anaheim, CA 92806. Please enter the Stadium off of Orangewood. You will be directed to the free parking area for the event. View and download the Angel Stadium Parking map here. 

5. Show Your Spirit

Create posters and signs to honor the ones whom you may be walking for. Bring them to the event and show them off along the route! We love to see the faces of those who you walk and run for. 

6. Bring Your Four-Legged Friends

Walk4ALZ is dog-friendly! Bring your best pals, and don’t forget to check out the Doggie Dugout booth and pick up an Alzheimer’s OC dog bandana and puppy treats! Just don’t forget to bring a leash. Don’t forget to vote for the official Duggy Dugout Mascot on Instagram and Facebook

7. Stay comfortable and hydrated

The walk route is approximately a mile long, and the run route is 5K (about 3.1 miles). Make sure you wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat, sunscreen and other items you may find useful to make the day as enjoyable as possible. Remember to drink plenty of water and to stay hydrated throughout the day. 

8. Have Fun

Lastly, don’t forget to have fun out there. The Walk4ALZ & Run4ALZ  is a special day where thousands come together to remember and honor their loved ones. Take lots of photos to remember the day and tag us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
