Adult Day Services

Alzheimer’s Orange County’s two adult day centers, Healthy Aging Center: Acacia and Healthy Aging Center: Laguna Woods, provide daytime assistance to over 120 participants every weekday. Read Kevin’s story below to learn more about the difference they’re making.

A PLACE WITH PURPOSE

The daytime assistance provided by Healthy Aging Center: Acacia and Healthy Aging Center: Laguna Woods provide essential services that give caregivers a break and participants like Kevin the personalized care and support they need.

Meet Kevin

Kevin is like a lot like you.

He likes spending time with his family, enjoys traveling and socializing with others. After his father passed away, his sister Kim became his primary caregiver. When Kevin had a stroke, it became evident she needed help to care for him.

She visited various centers determined to find the best care for her brother. After hearing many great reviews of Healthy Aging Center: Acacia she enrolled Kevin in the program. It became clear to her that the center wasn’t just to help people like her brother. It is a great resource for caregivers too.

“Acacia offers emotional support not only to the participant but also to the caregivers. The people that work there, they care. They give respect.”
—Kim Lee

Kim continued describing the program’s impact on her brother, saying that Kevin “loves that everyone knows him. He’s really motivated in his personal life and enjoys his exercises.”

These centers are more than just a place to spend the day. They are crucial in maintaining a person’s well-being and promoting healthy aging so those enrolled can stay at home and maintain their independence without sacrificing quality care.
