An adult day center is usually a non-residential facility with services that promote healthy aging, nutritional and social well-being, and independence for older adults. These services enable adults with medical diagnoses, such as dementia, to receive the care they need during the day, so that they can continue living at home instead of at a nursing facility. Adult day centers provide a safe place of care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, and relief for their caregivers.

Did you know that Alzheimer’s Orange County recently merged with Acacia Adult Day Services (“Acacia”) in Garden Grove? At Acacia, individuals with chronic illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease can receive daytime assistance for their medical and social needs in a safe and caring environment. Our professional staff is comprised of degreed, licensed, and/or certified clinicians and practitioners in the field of social work, nursing, and professional therapies such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy.

We also provide a variety of therapeutic programs designed to stimulate senses and encourage activity and wellness.  Our recreational and creative programs include art, music, cooking, and therapies for everyone’s enjoyment. These programs, coupled with personalized supervision from our professional staff, enhance the lives of the older adults at our centers, and bring relief to their caregivers who can rest assured knowing their loved ones are well accounted for.

Families can schedule an appointment to tour our Acacia center in Garden Grove, or our South County Adult Day Services center in Laguna Woods.

On January 27th, 2018, Acacia will be holding our annual fundraising Casino Night. This year, the event will celebrate two milestones – Acacia’s 38th anniversary in the community, and the merger with Alzheimer’s Orange County. The evening’s proceeds will benefit Acacia’s incredible programs for Orange County’s older adults.
