Many caregivers notice that their loved one becomes more confused, restless, or agitated in the late afternoon or evening—a pattern often referred to as “sundowning.” This class explores why these changes occur and how they can affect individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
Participants will learn about possible triggers for sundowning, including fatigue, environmental factors, and changes in routine. The session provides practical strategies caregivers can use to reduce evening stress, create calming environments, and support more comfortable transitions into nighttime routines.
Care partners are welcome to bring their loved ones with dementia. While you connect with other caregivers and learn helpful strategies, your loved one will enjoy engaging, supervised activities in our Adult Day Program.
