Becoming a caregiver often happens suddenly and without preparation. Many people feel overwhelmed when they first step into this role. This class provides guidance for individuals who have recently become caregivers for a loved one experiencing cognitive or health challenges. Participants will learn what to expect as caregiving responsibilities grow and how to navigate the emotional and practical aspects of the role. Topics include communication strategies, understanding changes associated with dementia, finding support resources, and managing caregiver stress. The session also emphasizes the importance of self-care and building a support network.
