This course explores Alzheimer’s disease, memory, aging, and emerging research. Participants will learn how Alzheimer’s differs from normal aging, why the disease is more complex than one single cause, and how brain changes such as amyloid, inflammation, vascular health, and hippocampal overactivity may contribute to memory loss. The course also highlights the need for precision medicine and reviews evidence-informed strategies that may help reduce risk, including exercise, social connection, diet, and sleep..

At completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe how Alzheimer’s disease differs from normal aging.
  2. Identify key risk factors and brain changes associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
  3. Explain why Alzheimer’s disease may require multiple treatment and prevention approaches.
  4. List lifestyle that may help support brain health and reduce risk.
