May 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Online Webinar
Organizer: Alzheimer’s Orange County
Contact: learn@alzoc.org
This four-part online series is designed for individuals living with memory loss and their care partners who want to better understand the changes that occur across the stages of dementia. Each session focuses on a different stage—Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), early-stage dementia, mid-stage dementia, and late-stage dementia—providing practical guidance on what changes to expect, strategies for adapting to new challenges, and ways to maintain connection, dignity, and quality of life. Participants will gain insight into how abilities evolve over time, learn supportive communication and care approaches for each stage, and have the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive learning environment.
Session 4: Late-Stage Dementia
In the later stage of dementia, individuals require more hands-on care as physical and cognitive abilities decline. This session focuses on compassionate care approaches, understanding changes in communication and physical health, and supporting comfort, dignity, and connection during this stage of the journey.
