May 21 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Online Webinar
Organizer: Alzheimer’s Orange County
Contact: learn@alzoc.org
Series Description:
This four-part online series is designed for individuals living with memory loss and their care partners who want to better understand the changes that occur across the stages of dementia. Each session focuses on a different stage—Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), early-stage dementia, mid-stage dementia, and late-stage dementia—providing practical guidance on what changes to expect, strategies for adapting to new challenges, and ways to maintain connection, dignity, and quality of life. Participants will gain insight into how abilities evolve over time, learn supportive communication and care approaches for each stage, and have the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive learning environment.
Session 3: Mid-Stage Dementia
The middle stage often brings greater changes in memory, behavior, and the ability to complete complex tasks. This session will discuss how care needs evolve, common behavioral and emotional expressions, and practical caregiving strategies to reduce frustration, improve communication, and maintain meaningful engagement.
