Dementia-Customer Service Training
Explore how customer service professionals, volunteers, and community members—also known as gatekeepers—can recognize and compassionately respond to older adults who may be living with dementia or at risk due to isolation, cognitive changes, or safety concerns through our recorded video training for those that interact with community members experiencing memory loss.
Learn about:
- What dementia is and how it affects communication, behavior, and daily functioning
- The vital role gatekeepers play in identifying those at risk
- Practical tips for engaging with individuals showing signs of Alzheimer’s or related dementias
- How to refer individuals for additional support and services
Whether you’re a front desk staff member, transportation driver, or friendly neighbor, your interactions matter. By being dementia-aware, you can help preserve the dignity, safety, and independence of those you serve.
